Good manners give colour and grace to life. They make
a man a useful member of the society. Courtesy is the foundation stone of good
manners. It is the essence of good manners. We should be courteous and polite
to others. We should be kind and soft in tone when we talk to others. We should
be polite while turning down the unfair requests of others and should, in no
case, lose our temper. We should be considerate to women and children and
should show respects to teachers and all elders. We should not think ourselves
superior to other and should treat our friends as equals. We should talk less
and listen more if we are in the company of others. Whenever we get a chance,
we should be helpful to others and should not hurt the feelings of others. Good
manners cost nothing but win everything. They add charm to our personality and
help us win friends and influence people. Good manners cannot be borrowed or
imitated, they are to be cultivated. We should study the lives of great men to
learn good manners. Whenever we find a flaw in ourselves, we should try to
remove it.
