Fitness is competency
or preparedness for life. It means in relation to human beings an ability to adjust
their lives properly to the needs of their
environment. Such competency for life arises out of, and is dependent upon, firstly, the freedom from disease and from inherited and acquired abnormalities and secondly, an efficient and strong body which is capable of use without strain in all the normal tasks of life.

Also, an
ability to tolerate severe pressure without breaking own .This means that we should
possess qualities of speed, strength, agility and perseverance, and a keen and alert
mind which is responsive to rapidly changing situations and is free from worry of
fear and can relax without difficulty. Also, one should have a spirit to serve humanity.
More then ever in the history of mankind, there is today a great need for human
beings all over the world to acquire the qualities that will enable them to survive
the shocks of a speedily changing environment and to meet the demands that modern
life imposes on them.
