(THE FOX AND THE GOAT)
Once upon a time, a goat and fox lived together, as
they were good friends. One day, the fox was going somewhere and it was
raining, the fox slipped and fell into a well. He tried his best to come out of
the well but did not succeed. His heart began to sink as nothing seemed to save
his life. He did not know how to come out of this trouble and death seemed
certain.
The goat, on not finding the fox, became anxious and
began searching for him. The goat was happy to find here friend in the well. As
the fox was cunning, he could not perceive the sincerity of the goat. He told
the goat that he was enjoying a bath in the well and invited the goat also to
join him in the well. The foolish goat was not able to see through the trick of
the fox and jumped into the well to enjoy her self in the water. The cunning
fox used the back of the goat and jumped out of the well. Thus, the cunning fox
was able to save his life but he sacrificed the life of his true friend. The
goat had to pay dearly for her ignorance, innocence and simplicity. She failed to
perceive the real intention of the cunning fox who was not her true friend but
a selfish friend. The maxim says that being simple is equally criminal as being
cunning.
MORAL:-
Beware of selfish companions.
Or
Learn to discriminate
between
And a false friend
