Importance of Science and Technology

Collection of knowledge about the natural world is called science and the application of this knowledge in manufacturing things is called technology. Life has been made comfortable and secure by science and technology. The very concept of the word ‘comfortable’ is linked with the inventions and discoveries of science. Human sufferings have lessened as a result of advances in medical science. Life expectancy has increased. Industrial development has been achieved by the wonderful machines. We have ever increasing dependence on science and the technology. They have been able to provide solutions to our ever increasing problems. The basic knowledge of science and technology can bring about a revolutionary change even in common man. It develops in him a scientific temper. He, then, does not take things for granted. Science and technology can remove superstitions and blind faith from the society. They can also promote the welfare of mankind in the whole world.
